Excessive sweating is one problem most sufferers don’t even
discuss with their best friends. But Lisa has found the answer

arms in triumph. But suddenly everyone
watching focuses on those spreading dark
patches in his armpits. Or, the teacher
tries to quieten the pupils, who giggle

Excessive sweating, hyperhydrosis, is
one of those problems people don’t even
talk about to their best friends. Lisa, who
had suffered from it for all of her adult
life describes how she coped: “I always
wore baggy tops, nothing that was close
fitting around the arms. It was upsetting
because I’m slim and would have liked to
have worn closer fitting things.”
While the sweating was more or

situations. Needless to say Lisa had
worked her way along the shelf of
antiperspirants in the chemist, including

worked for her. “I even tried crystals and
the stuff you paint on. That seemed to
make the problem worse.”
