FOREWORD
Cats Protection League
hold Summer Fayre
The vision of Cats Protection
is to ensure that every cat
is given the chance of a life
where it will be treated with
kindness and an understanding
of its needs.
The Cats Protections
adoption centre at Ryde has
many felines waiting for homes
and can house up to 80 cats/
kittens at one time.
When prospective adopters
choose a cat or kitten they
like, a pre home visit is carried
out. When the adoption is
completed the centre offers
a follow up service and an
informal visit to see the cat/
kitten settled in its new home.
Neutering is one of Cats
Protection’s core objectives
and the only way to ensure
the unplanned litters of today
don’t become the unwanted
cats of tomorrow. Due to the
recent kitten explosion on
the island the Isle of Wight
adoption centre at Ryde has
launched a “free” neutering
campaign. The CP neutering
road show will be out and
about around the island
offering free vouchers to cat
owners. Vouchers will also
available at CP reception 122
Marlborough Road, Ryde
The centre welcomes visitors
daily and is open 11-3pm, 7
days a week. Evening opening
Tues/Weds 5-8pm. Help make
the stay of the cats more
enjoyable by offering “hands
on” and join our team of cat
cuddlers.
This years Summer Fayre
Saturday August 16th 12-3pm

Internationally renowned
Artist Exhibits in Seaview
“Last year someone said of my
exhibition that it was the most
amazing show they had seen –
akin to visiting a top London
Gallery; this year’s exhibition
follows suit. I was so pleased
to hear this,” said Carolyn
Pavey. “Having grown up in
Seaview, it was very satisfying
that people recognised in my
paintings that the Island is
such a special place to me.”
Carolyn’s reputation in
recent years has gained an
international following for her
large seascapes and landscapes.
It is hardly surprising that
they are so appreciated. Her
technique of building up
layers of glazes affords the
finished work a luminosity
which contemporary painting
rarely achieves. Also reflected
in the exhibition is her love of
travel – Italy (Venice), France
and Spain are some of the
destinations translated onto
canvas in recent years.
In addition to her child
studies and seascapes, Carolyn
has painted more formal
portraits as well as abstracted
work, an area which her
collectors have encouraged for
some time.
Carolyn’s paintings are to
be found in public and private
collections. She has exhibited
in many London galleries,
including: the Royal Academy
and the Royal Society of
Miniature Painters Sculptors
and Gravers. Carolyn runs
Specialist Art courses in the
run up to the exhibition and
takes a limited number of
commissions yearly.
The exhibition will be held at
the Masonic Hall, Fairy Road,
Seaview from Friday 15th
August (12 noon – 6pm). Then
from Saturday 16th – Tuesday
19th August, 10am – 6pm.
