FOREWORD
Lord Snowdon and Paul feels
significant others
the heat!
Sharing space with Lord
Snowdon can’t be a bad place
to be and three artists have
done just that at Dimbola
Lodge. Max Adelman’s
‘Shadows’ exhibition, portraits
from the world of theatre and
media, was a tour de force,
and Ben Wood’s images of the
Island, throughout August, is a
stunning collection of land and
seascapes. The exhibition runs
till 14th September.
September brings a
new twist to Dimbola,
as local photographer
David Whistance of
West Wight Giclee
reveals the stunning
shapes and colours
discovered on a trito
Arizona. He calls it “Rocks
and Sticks,” but it is so much
more. Until 2nd November.
The weather might have let us
down in July but visitors to
Diamond Isle Sculptured Glass
at Arreton Barns have been
feeling the heat. A new viewing
area with sliding glass windows
means visitors can watch Paul
Critchley and his team from
both inside and outside.
“Hot molten glass is a
beautiful thing to see being
blown and sculpted and
visitors can now appreciate it
from a variety of viewpoints,”
says Paul. “We are expanding
the blown side of our glass
making and I’d like to feel
someone sees something
different on every visit to the
glassworks.”
Paul is also celebrating
the installation of a heat
exchanger, which will reduce
the amount of gas he uses for
his furnace.
