“’There’s something
different about your
face,’” friends have said.
They say I’m looking
ever so well, younger,
softer somehow,” says
Tanya. “They can’t quite
put their finger on it!”
Which is quite an endorsement
for a beauty treatment that has
at times had a bad press.
Tanya’s new look is due to
a Botox® and filler treatment
at the Orchard Cosmetic Skin
Centre. Dr Máire Rhatigan
was her consultant, an
experienced ophthalmologist
and cosmetic medicine
practitioner, who sees clients
for an initial consultation so
they are absolutely sure about
what is involved. Wasn’t Tanya
concerned about having such
a drastic beauty treatment?
“Not at all,” smiles Tanya.
“Because Máire is so open
about the procedure and
what could go wrong, you are
reassured that she’s going to
make sure nothing does.”
At the consultation Tanya,
aged 46, was asked what
she didn’t like about her face.
“It was the deep lines on my
forehead,” she says. “And the
smile lines from my nose to
my mouth. I’d begun to notice
last year they were looking
deeper.” Máire told her that
the forehead lines could be
softened with Botox®, not
flattened completely. And for
the smile lines she would use
Restylane, which works from
the inside to fill out deep lines.
