Somerton Cross Country Event
Sat 22nd and Sunday 23rd September 2007
A new look for
this year's event
The Cross Country
event at Somerton Farm,
sponsored this year by
Creasey Biles & King and
CBK Waterside, takes
place in September by
kind permission of Mr
& Mrs David Biles.
The event has been run
annually by the Isle of Wight
Hunt Supporters’ Club for some
25yrs and from very modest
beginnings has grown into
a major date in the Island’s
equestrian calendar. This year,
as well as the usual crosscountry classes from minimus
to open, there will be a Two Day
Event with dressage and show
jumping on the Saturday and
cross country on the Sunday.
Also for the first time this will
be a British Horse Society
Qualifier for the South Essex
Insurance Brokers BHS Cross
Country Championships 2007.
Work is going on apace at
Somerton Farm to revamp the
fences and course builder
John Found and his team are
constructing several completely
new obstacles and others are
having a thorough makeover.
As well as our main sponsor,
many other local firms and
individuals have been extremely
generous with sponsorship of
fences and materials. These
include: R&R Containers,
Aquarius Diving, County
Fencing, Island Marquees,
Moreys, The Shedman,
Springbank Nurseries, The
Tack Shack, Michael Lamb
Farrier, And &WrGW&
