have created rooms that are
classic, yet contemporary in
style - with luxurious fabrics
by Colefax & Fowler, elegant
natural seagrass carpets
and flat screen televisions
with DVD and satellite
channels in all rooms.
In the main hotel, the first
phase of refurbishment has
been completed with stylish
makeovers for 11 of the 17
rooms (further work is planned
for winter 2008 to convert the
remaining six rooms). Very

much a case of ‘traditional
meets modern’ Keech Green
have created a totally individual
look for the three four poster
rooms using a striking grey
and cream décor. They have
also developed a brand new
look for the top tier of ‘gold
rooms’ with bold red and
gold tones for the curtains,
bed covers and headboards,
all by Colefax & Fowler.
Bathrooms have been
refurbished and a range
of handmade soaps and
designer toiletries, presented in
attractive, individual decanters
are a new representation of
the Seaview’s long-established
care and attention to detail.
Housed in a new wing
adjacent to the existing hotel,
with its own lift, the seven
Seaview Modern rooms
(opening July 2007) are larger
and even more luxurious in
design – with a fresh, modern
feel, which provides a contrast
with the existing hotel
rooms. Using modern
floral fabrics by designer
Manuel Canovas, Keech
Green have concentrated
on three accents – blue,
ochre and linen – with wall
coverings and carpets
in toning colour ways.
Seaview Modern rooms
also boast the last word
in luxurious bathrooms.
Water flows from the
ceiling to fill the bath and
blue lights have been
meticulously carved into
it. Bathers will also be able
to watch Television, a remote
control television integrated
into marble tiles at the end of
the bath – a feature unique on
the Isle of Wight and available
in only a handful of UK hotels.
Despite the luxury upgrade
to the hotel rooms, pricing
at the Seaview remains very
reasonable for the standard of
accommodation offered. One
night’s bed and full English
breakfast in a standard room
costs £120pp (£155pp July
and August), a four poster
room costs £149pp (£170pp
high season), gold rooms cost
£165pp (£199pp high season)
and the new Seaview Modern
rooms are priced at £165pp
(£199pp high season).
General Manager Andrew
Morgan added:
To remain at the top, it's
been important to focus on
investment, to secure the hotel's
future. People's expectation of
staying in a hotel has increased
life
to another level, with guests
constantly looking for a superior
level of comfort and this is quite
simply what has been achieved.
With the refurbishment
and now a further seven
new rooms (24 bedrooms)
the future is exciting!
In tandem with the room
makeover and opening of
the Seaview Modern wing,
the hotel has also revamped
its website. The new
site – www.seaviewhotel.
co.uk – provides full details
of the rooms, restaurants,
bars and leisure facilities
available on a Seaview stay.
