COUNTRYSIDE & FARMING The business now incorporates a very successful tearoom and gift shop offering home-made cakes made with fresh ingredients. These include an unusual lavender sponge and lavender scones, which can be washed down with lavender tea. After being fed and watered, visitors usually like to browse around the gift shop, where all the products on offer are made from the natural lavender oil farmed at Staplehurst Grange. Unlike most big commercial brands, there are no artificial fragrances added here. Items include shampoo, soap, moisturising cream, perfume, candles, bath salts and dried flowers - not to mention the amazing range of nearly 200 varieties of lavender plants from the nursery. Isle of Wight Lavender is a success story that the Island should be proud of. It is well worth a visit, and its quality products make lovely gifts for any occasion. Paul and Reuben are celebrating winning awards at the Royal Horticultural Society shows at Malvern, Chelsea, Gardeners World & Hampton Court this summer. Staplehurst Grange, Staplers Road, IW.
