Local scene Having a Ball with the Bloodhounds What a great night was had at this year’s Bloodhound Ball. Events such as these take a huge amount of organisation and can take several months to pull together. On the other side of the coin, the build up is just as exciting with gowns to find, alter and accessorise, tables to fill and friends to gather. The pre-Ball drinks were at 5pm - they start early in the Bloodhounds. This year they gathered at the Gurnard Pines venue starting with a champagne reception and, after grace, 160 guests sat down for dinner. Speeches were made, games were played, horn blowing contestants tried their luck, hunt buttons were presented and there was, as always, the raffle, with some pretty good prizes on offer. The dancing went on until 2am to both a live band and a disco, jackets came off and some serious moves were attempted. This was the fifth Bloodhound Ball and the best so far. Everyone had such fun.
