New expansion for Beach Hut
Its surroundings may be steeped
in history, but a new eatery that’s
recently opened within the walls
of one of the Island’s oldest
buildings is bang on trend.
Based at Rectory Mansion (the old Waxworks
museum) in Brading, The Auctioneer Wine
Bar and Kitchen features wholesome,
home-cooked menus with a strong focus on
signature seafood dishes, imaginative veggie
options, gluten-free choices and delicious
brunches and sandwiches, along with Island
coffee and ales and carefully selected wines.
Owners Jon and Emma Guy describe their
latest venture – which comes six years after
launching their hugely successful Beach
Hut Seafood Kitchen and Beachside Bar in
Bembridge – as “an old school wine bar and
kitchen.”
Breakfast choices include ‘The Posh One’,
featuring smoked salmon and asparagus
with poached eggs, as well as the more
traditional crispy smoked bacon sandwich,
while the eclectic seafood menu has dishes
including, Tiger prawns, Spanish mussels
and French lobster bisque.
Definitely a quirky new venue that’s worth
checking out, breakfast is served from
10am - 11.30am, lunch till 3pm closing at
4pm. Friday and Saturday nights are ‘Steak
and Seafood night’, reservations only. The
premises are available for private hire,
contact Emma for more details.
The Beach Hut is open on dry days from
11am, give them a call to check if in doubt.
Food is cooked to order and the menu will
change with the seasons, making the most
of good local produce.
