Riverfest 2016
I
sle of Wight Riverfest was launched in
2008 and has become the biggest free
community event in Newport, attracting
some 4,000 people.
It aims to raise awareness of the benefits
of the water environment and promote
sustainable water use and conservation.
The highlight of the event is a flotilla
with vessels of all shapes and sizes. The
Wight Pirates – early 18th Century Pirate
and Smuggler re-enactors usually invade
Riverfest – so watch out!
Join in the watery fun at Newport Quay
on May 21.

n May 29 and 30 take this rare
opportunity to see inside the family
home of Mottistone House. There are also
the beautiful gardens to explore, which
really come to life this time of year. There
is a charge for entry to the house for nonNT members in addition to the garden
entry price.
9km charity run
T
aking place on Sunday April 24 at 9.30am
is a 9km charity run around Newchurch.
The entry fee of £12 for adults and £6 for
under 16s will be split between Sports Relief
and Newchurch School. Entries must be paid
in advance, either through Newchurch Primary
School, Love Running, Newport or online at
www.newchurchprimaryschool.co.uk.

Blues Fair

he sixth annual Isle of Wight Wolverton
Folk & Blues Fair will take place in the
stunning grounds of
