Garden party
at the Twinings
A
summer garden party at the St. Lawrence
home of Sam and Anne Twining will serve up
an exquisite blend of flowers and plants, woven
together with some stunning large scale works of art
by Lisa Traxler (www.lisatraxler.com)
The charity event, in aid of St Lawrence Churches,
is at Wolverton House, Undercliff Drive, and takes
place on Saturday June 13 from 12 noon until 6pm.
Ploughman’s lunches will be served from 12.302.00pm, teas from 3.00 - 5.00 pm, and a bar will also
be available.
Bringing
history
to life
A
n exciting new interactive exhibition
at Brading Roman Villa gives a
colourful insight into the life of the
traditional Japanese Samurai warrior.
“Last Samurai – the True Story”, which
runs until June 2, features props and
costumes from the blockbuster 2003
movie featuring Tom Cruise, along with
authentic weapons, sourced from private
collections.
Some of the pieces will be available
for trying on – which is sure to make for
some great family photo opportunities!
Newbarn Annual Charity Shoot
T
he third annual charity shoot
at Newbarn Farm, Calbourne,
takes place on May 24, by kind
permission of the Spence family.
Proceeds from the event will
go to the Joe Ellis Trust, and
all donations will be gratefully
received.
All are welcome to watch the
event, whether participating or
not, and refreshments will be
available for the 10am start.
