the town
pink!
T
he ever-popular Old Gaffers
Festival celebrates its 19th
anniversary this year – and in
honour of its chosen charity for 2015,
The Breast Cancer Trust, the whole town
of Yarmouth will be turned pink for the
three-day event.
As well as an eclectic international
market in the square and a host of local
arts and crafts on the green from May
30 – June 1, an amazing Pink Panther
bar on the Quay will be serving up the
most imaginitive pink intoxications,
from real ale to juicy cocktails.
This is the biggest real ale festival
on the Island, and every corner of
Yarmouth will be filled with exciting
and spectacular street theatre, all free
to watch.
Friday night’s entertainment will be
Pink Island Extravaganza, featuring
three top Island rock bands, and
Saturday is Saturday Night Fever, an
extravaganza of 70s sounds with Star
Tribute and the fabulous Saturday Night
Bee Gees topping the bill.
Tickets for the Friday and Saturday
evening events go on sale in early May at
the Yarmouth Wightlink booking office.
You can also help to support the
Breast Cancer Trust by buying a
programme from the end of April
onwards: £1 from every one sold will
go to the charity which has touched the
lives of so many people.
