Supporting you through
a life changing experience
W
hether it’s feeding time,
changing nappies or trying to
manage on a few hours’ sleep
a night, those first few days and weeks
with a new baby can take their toll on any
parent.
But here on the Island you can have
qualified professional help. Heather Berry
has been working as a self employed
private maternity nurse for over seven
years. She can be on hand to help any
parent with all aspects of caring for their
newborn baby or babies in their own
home. Her invaluable help gives a new
mother in particular the opportunity to
recover and get back on her feet.
Heather said: “I am there to give support,
practical help and advice. I will find out
before being booked how parents want
to do things; what their priorities are and
agree how we will work together. The
length of a booking depends entirely on
the family. Anything from an afternoon for
an Antenatal Sleep Workshop to five or six
days a week for up to 12 weeks.
“My role during any booking is to help
families develop the knowledge and skills
they need to be confident in their own
ability. By reducing anxiety levels a parent
can relax and enjoy these early weeks.
Appropriate rhythms and routines take
time to develop. With my special interest
in baby feeding and development of
healthy sleep habits you can be confident
I have the knowledge and skills to help
you on your journey."
Heather can be contacted through her
website, and suggests that anyone who
is expecting a baby who would like help
should book without delay. Contact:
