outdoor activities and tailored support to
build their confidence, raise self-esteem
and help them to re-engage at school, at
home and in the community.
Staff, trustees, volunteers and young
people accompanied by their family
and friends were joined by 120 guests,

celebrate the continued success of the
charity and the achievements of young
people.
The top achievement award for the
young person was presented to Jenny
Rayner, who has gone on from engaging
to achieve beyond their goals, horizons
or others expectations.
Volunteer of the Year was awarded to
Ian Hutchcraft, which is voted by the
charity’s staff, volunteers and young
people. Ian does all he can for the
charity on a regular basis in between a
part-time work role and full-time carer
for his disabled son.
The evening was topped off with an
impromptu speech from Ben Hammond
and Sean Lindsey, who recalled their
time with the charity 12 years previous;
the profound effect it had on their lives
and highlighting the dedication of the
staff and volunteers. Sean and Ben, who
recently took over Island based waste
collection and high pressure cleaning
business SSC Group, committed to
donating two per cent of all income to
their business to the charity.
