Ball climaxes great year The first IW Farmers’ Bloodhound Ball, held at Cowes Yacht Haven, proved a huge success, with 180 sitting down to an excellent three-course meal, and a further 30 arriving for the after-dinner entertainment provided by local band Cornerstone. The dinner was the climax to a highly successful year for the IW Farmers’ Bloodhounds. Guests were met and greeted by Joint Masters Asa Wingate and Roger Broomfield, and Amateur Whip Nick Ward was Master of Ceremonies for the evening. The raffle prizes included one year’s free hunting with the IW Farmers’ Bloodhounds and a pair of hunting whips. Asa made a speech at the function, thanking all the local landowners and farmers for their kindness and co-operation in allowing the Bloodhounds to hunt across their land.
