High Sheriff awards
Outgoing Island High Sheriff
Mary Case hosted the High Sheriff
Awards Night at the Quay Arts
Centre Newport. The ceremony
highlights the achievements of
young Island people who have
overcome or are still overcoming
adversity in their lives.
Among those present were
students with learning disabilities
from the IW College who are
engaged in the ‘Cup and Saucer’
and ‘Flying Saucer’ projects that
allow them to serve tea, coffees
and refreshments to employees
at County Hall. Mary said: “As
only a few of the 40 or so students
involved could attend the Awards
Night, we held a special celebration
party for the remainder of them
at the College to recognise their
achievements.”
