Crab cakes a must
at Beach Shack
S
eafood lovers, particularly those with a passion for crab
cakes, should head for The Beach Shack on Sandown’s West
Esplanade.
Not only is the Beach Shack the perfect location for families,
nestling on the revetment right next to the beach, but it offers
home-made crab cakes that have won the award for the Best Crab
Cakes on the Isle of Wight for the last six years!
But there is plenty more on offer to enjoy at the family-run
licensed cafe, which is open all day, every day in the summer
months. So whether it’s early morning breakfast, lunch or possibly
an early evening meal, The Beach Shack is the place to be. At
weekends in the summer, the evening meals are extended to late
evenings, with bookings advisable.
Other meals on offer include locally-sourced fresh lobster salads
and seafood platters, and a specials board with seafood of the
day. The Beach Shack has built up a steady reputation for freshly
prepared food, which counts among its favourites, halloumi
burgers, Moroccan spiced chicken dishes and homemade pizzas.
There is a stylish new indoor seating area for approximately 35
covers and a further 40 outside.
So while the parents are enjoying the delights of The Beach Shack,
just a short stroll from Sandown Pier, children can play on the
sands or dip their toes in the sea! Take a peek at The Beach Shack’s
website which includes a Google virtual tour of the cafe.
During the busy summer season it is always best to book for both
lunchtimes and evenings. Call Greg on mobile 07886-959192 or
