A spring break on Spain’s sunny Mediterranean
coast led to a complete change of lifestyle for
Orchard Cosmetic’s owner Dr. Maire Rhatigan.
Dr. Rhatigan moved to Spain with her
family last September, but comes back to
the Island each month to continue her
cosmetic work at Orchard Cosmetic and
finds the new arrangement provides a
perfect balance for family life and work.
She said: “The clinic continues to
be very busy with the most popular
treatments being fillers which are
wonderful for treating ageing around
the mouth area and IPL hair removal
provided by our IPL specialist Krista.
“Our IPL system has been proven over
many years to give impressive clearance
of unwanted body and facial hair and
combined with Krista’s experience in the
art of IPL treatment our patients love the
results.”
Dr. Rhatigan explained her change in
lifestyle by saying: “I moved with my
family to a Spanish town on the shores

of the beautiful Mar Menor. Without
any fixed prior notion of moving abroad,
we went on a two week holiday to Spain
last spring to a place which had been
recommended to my husband by a work
colleague as a good water sports location.
“We love everything to do with the sea
and found this holiday destination to be
perfect for us with lots to do in the warm
waters of the Mar Menor.”
She continued: “Our two children
aged nine and 11 are happy in the
International school where they have
made new English and Spanish friends
and they are quickly picking up Spanish.
Though we are all missing our friends on
the Island, Spain is so close to the UK
that we can fly back in just over a couple
of hours and our friends also come to see
us which is wonderful.”
