GARDENING new crops of plants, many varieties of alpines, ideal for sandy soil and reliable with lovely dainty flowers. Perennials, hardy “cottage garden plants” including old favourites, such as lupins, aquilegia, delphiniums, foxgloves and so many more. Fresh pot grown herbs arrive each week along with our shrubs and climbing plants. Growing your own fresh vegetables from the garden is still very popular. Many vegetables can be grown from seeds sown directly into the soil which includes carrots, peas, beetroot, spring onions and spinach. We also will have a good selection of young vegetable plants, tomatoes, cucumbers, marrow and courgettes as well as peppers, melons and runner beans. New this year we have our own allotment on site and each Thursday afternoon between 2.0pm and 3.0pm you can join us at The Garden Centre for “Grow with the Governor”, for helpful tips and practical advice on growing your own. See you there! www.visitislandlife.com 75
