The Old Gaffers Festival will take
place in Yarmouth, from noon on
Friday May 31 until 6pm on Sunday
June 2.
Yarmouth town and harbour will
embrace a fun-filled weekend
of entertainment for the whole
family. There will be free
day-time entertainment in and
around The Square and in The
Marquee on the Quay. Among
the acts performing will be The
Dance Preachers, Derek Sandy,
Voxpop, Caribbean Melody Steel
Band, The Slipshod Singers,
Vic Ellis – One man band, La
Banda Martinez, Bournemouth
Carnival Band, Wight Hot
Pipes, Last Orders, and street
entertainers Vince and Richard.
New acts appearing for the
first time include The London
Philharmonic Skiffle Orchestra
and The Nick Cane Band with
Denzil.
The Fun Dog Show will
be held at 11am on the
Sunday – book in by
10.45am – with classes for
the Best Dressed Dog and
Handler; the Waggiest Tail
and the Judges’ favourite.
On the Friday and Saturday evenings there will be dancing in The
Marquee, on The Quay, to live bands. ‘The Roaring Forties’ theme
evening on Friday will include music from The Tootsie Rollers, The
Regular Joes and Mr B. the Gentleman Rhymer. On Saturday evening
the theme will be ‘Surfin Safari’ with live music provided by The All Stars
and Beach Boys Gold. Tickets are limited so buy early!
