Headmaster William McIsaac in 1921 and has grown from 46
boys to its present day number of 763 boys and girls. Although
non selective, it boasts some of the best academic results in the
country. It is constantly looking to improve its existing facilities,
the Bembridge Building and Wessex Quadrangle being the
latest in an on-going programme.
The old Art and Design and Technology building is being
renovated into a new languages area and Westmont, the original
building, is being upgraded for administration and a specialised
Sixth Form Library.
Guests included the Lord Lieutenant Major General Martin
White CB CBE JP and Mrs Fiona White; Susie Sheldon, High
Sheriff of the Isle of Wight; Cllr David Williams, Chairman of the
IW Council, and Andrew Turner, MP and partner Carole Dennett.
