ISLAND LIFE Rotary Club's new premises Gospel choir holds singing workshop Shanklin Rotary Club have acquired a warehouse at Spithead Park, Sandown to store items for their annual sale, which this year raised £46,337 for Island and international charities, with the majority of the proceeds remaining on the Island. The new premises will allow better storage throughout the year, and if sufficient good quality items are donated, there may be a half-yearly sale on the site. A one-day singing workshop and evening concert, featuring the Isle of Wight Gospel Choir will take place at the Newport Minster on Saturday, April 14. Grenville Jones and Mark De-Lisser will lead the choral workshop in the afternoon. Grenville featured on national TV on ‘Children in Need’ Day in November as he was one of only eight choir conductors asked by the BBC to train a national youth choir with Gareth Malone. The Minster workshop brings together Grenville with Mark from the ACM Gospel Choir. They met when ACM and Grenville's hugely popular Bath Male Choir reached the finals of the BBC Last Choir Standing series.
