Nathan will be responsible for accelerating the business’ high-end holiday home acquisition programme on the Isle of Wight and will be liaising directly with estate agents, developers and home owners to recruit four and five star properties for its customers to stay in. Commenting on Nathan’s appointment Alan Taylor, Managing Director of the Blue Chip Holidays, said: "2010 was our busiest year to date and 2011 looks like it has all the makings of another record-breaker. We believe that now is the right time to bring in a business heavyweight who can accelerate our high-end holiday home acquisition programme on the island.” Commenting on his appointment Nathan said: “Customers have clearly fallen in love with holidaying in the UK, and the Isle of Wight is proving to be one of our more popular areas for booking requests. This year alone bookings across our national portfolio are already up 72 per cent on the 8 same period of last year. This bodes very well for owners of second homes or long-let properties that are looking to increase their income by moving into the lucrative holiday home market.” Maddocks added: “Overseas uncertainty caused by extreme weather conditions, air strikes, ash clouds, poor exchange rates, increases in air fares and fuel taxes have all contributed to an increase in bookings. On the back of this trend we predict a sustained period of further growth where demand for the cream of self-catering properties could easily outstrip current supply in the peak Summer weeks. To manage this, we’re working hard to recruit the kind of high-end properties that our customers are looking for.” Blue Chip Holidays’ aim is to expand its portfolio from over 800 properties across the South West, Wales and now the Isle of Wight, to well in excess of 1,100 holiday homes by the end of 2011.
