The Suzuki Swift has won countless
awards over the years for its three and
five-door hatchbacks, and it is easy to
understand why.
Kindly loaned to me by Hale Common
Suzuki was the 1.2 dual VVT SZ3
which came with alloy wheels and air
conditioning. I am told that the Swift
sells in more than 120 countries and
has won over 60 prestigious car awards.
And I have to say I’m not surprised.
The new generation of Suzuki Swift
went on sale in 2005 and made quite a
name for itself as a fun and economical
small hatchback. The most recent Swift
is slightly larger in all dimensions and
therefore offers more interior space,
especially rear seat legroom - it is
lighter, stronger and better equipped.
The styling is slightly more
sophisticated, there is more room inside
and it is safer, featuring seven airbags
and earning a five-star Euro NCAP
crash test rating. It also benefits from
electronic handling, which is standard
on all models, as are electrically
operated front door windows and
heated electric door mirrors, remote
central locking and a stereo radio/cd
player with USB port and six s V
