The Square Deli / Bistro in St Thomas’s Square, Newport have
launched its new take away and Bistro Spring/Summer menu for
2010. The menu has been created utilising the very best fresh,
local and seasonal food sourced directly from the Island where
ever possible. After speaking to managing director Toby Wren it
became very apparent that the Square places a great emphasis
on the quality of its produce. Toby went on to say ‘Our head
chef has a real passion for rustic deli / Bistro style food. The
beauty of the menu is that the core ingredients have the same
fresh, local and seasonal origins and they simply allow clients to
choose how they wish to dine.’
The Deli takeaway menu offers great value lunch time
takeaway from home baked Cornish pasties and deep filled
jackets through to delicious baguettes and home-made soups. If
you have a little more time to spare why not relax in the bistro
or on the sun terrace in the heart of the square. A typical bistro
dish would be a scrumptious home-made goats cheese tart
with crusty French bread or maybe a home-made pasta bake
or stone baked Pizza with a chilled glass of wine or bottle of
beer. The square is open Sunday’s too and offers a delicious full
English breakfast, using local ingredients, with tea or coffee for
£4.95. If you are looking for an independent place to eat which
offers great value and really cares about its food, service and
atmosphere you would be hard pressed to find anywhere nicer
than the square!
