life FASHION, HEALTH & BEAUTY Are you missing one or more teeth? Do you have difficulty eating certain foods or speaking clearly due to tooth loss? Do you suffer from the discomfort of ill fitting dentures? Small touches – Implants are the way forward Old to new Dental implants have many advantages *Dental implants look, feel and function like your natural teeth *Dental implant allows you to eat, laugh and smile naturally *Healthy teeth do not need to be ground down to support dental implants *Anchoring dental implants in the jawbone stimulate bone tissue arresting the ongoing bone loss, which occurs after a tooth is extracted, ensuring an aesthetic result which help to maintain facial structures *Dental implants do not require any adhesives to hold the new teeth in place, and eliminate discomfort and insecurity of loose, ill fitting dentures * Last but not least; you get a secure and permanent tooth replacement Replacing a single tooth/Several teeth/ all of the teeth *A dental implant is the optimal solution for anyone who is missing one or more teeth *There are two solutions when several teeth are missing: separate crowns on dental implants or a bridge attached to two or more implants *When all of your teeth are missing in either upper, lower or both jaws you can choose a full bridge supported by dental implants or and implant retained denture. The implant retained denture is easily removed but will remain securely anchored during function and you will be spared the embarrassment suffered by conventional denture wearers when their dentures dislodge during eating out, speaking and laughing in company. Truth is you already know – the secret is in the blow dry. Who hasn’t sat on the edge of their bed, head between their legs, top of the range blow-dryer in hand, dreaming of Myleene Klass bouncy waves - only to sit up, look in the mirror and see a new member of the Jackson Five? No? Just me then. On the other hand if your blow drying skills do need a quick update here’s my five minute master class to achieve that ultra desirable smooth glossy finish: 1) Take your time. Unless your hair is completely dry your style won’t set - at least not the way you want it to. 2) Direct the hot air down the hair shaft (away from the root). This will close your hair’s cuticles giving it that glossy look. 3) A blast of cold air at the end of the blow dry will help to defeat frizz. 4) Take a break from heat styling at least once a week. You don’t need perfect hair while watching ‘Celebrity Come Dine With Me’! 5) Invest in good quality hair brushes. They will last forever and give great results every time. 6) Use leave-in hair conditioner occasionally – your hair needs treating too. Yes we are all feeling the pinch at the moment but great hair and great skin will, at least, leave you looking and feeling like a million dollars. As for the economy – well there’s always the lottery. Matt Coles, Paul Hirst and Di Jones are the senior stylists at Matt & Paul Studio, Ryde. To book an appointment call (01983) 615861.
