FOREWORD ISLAND TO IRELAND Wight Satin Ladies Barbershop Chorus will be travelling to Sligo in the Republic of Ireland to represent the Isle of Wight and compete in the Irish Association of Barbershop Singers convention in early October 2008. The event coincides with the 21st anniversary of the Chorus later this year. Currently there are 36 members making up the Chorus and they come from all corners of the Island. Ages range from early teens to 80+. New members are always welcome. If interested details are available on our website www.wightsatin.co.uk. The Chorus is looking for sponsorship. The Musical Director, Nicholas Frampton says “this is a great opportunity for the Chorus to compete in an international competition”. Located on the Parade with uninterrupted views of the Solent, this was clearly the place to be! Customers, visitors and old friends gathered together to enjoy a glass of champagne and some delicious canapés whilst admiring the new paintings and sculptures on display. Commenting on the opening Mark Fear said “we were thrilled with the turnout -the move into this building has enabled us to extend the range of works we are able to handle.
