FASHION - HEALTH - BEAUTY - life Spring into action with the The Italian Touch With the spring fashion season in full swing, we take a look at the latest looks that will enhance your wardrobe. BOUTIQUE owner Katia Di Nallo has an eye for fashion that extends far beyond what will look good on the rails of her shop. She has such a flair for picking out outfits, that customers will turn up at The Italian Touch, in High Street, Shanklin, and say, “dress me”. Katia explains: “Lots of customers who have maybe visited us two or three times will come in and say, ‘I’m going to a wedding can you dress me up?’ “I can often remember the things they have bought before and can advise them that the trousers they bought from our autumn collection would go perfectly with this new top. “I’m not very good at remember- Island Life - www.isleofwight.net ing names but I can remember what they’ve got in their wardrobes.” It’s this level of personal service that attracts customers back to the shop that she has run with husband Steven for the last three years. The couple has an impressive track record in fashion retail working for some of the top clothing outlets in London including Selfridges and Fenwicks of Bond Street. Katia returns to her native Italy at least four times a year to buy each season’s collection. The couple use 12 different suppliers from all over Italy and, with an average price of £35, aim to provide style at reasonable prices. Katia adds: “Our clothes are cheaper than you can buy them for in Italy as shops have a much higher mark up over there.” Katia and Steven like to keep things as exclusive as possible and only buy one item per size per colour ensuring there’s little chance of meeting someone else in the same outfit. Key colours for this spring include silvery greys with splashes of purple, lilac and red and soft golds teamed with khaki shades of green. Accessories include beautiful Italian shoes priced between £33 and £99 and striking Valentino bags. The Italian Touch, 24 High Street, Shanklin. Tel: 01983 868290 75
