Stuart adds: “We pick our asparagus
at 6am and it’s in the shop by 10am.
“It’s the same for the sweetcorn.
We pick as we go. We’ll pick in the
morning and if it starts selling out in
the shop we’ll be out picking again
in the afternoon.
“That way we’re keeping everything
as fresh as possible.”
Farmer Jack’s involvement in
schools is also proving a popular
initiative around the Island.
“We went to Arreton Primary School
as part of a breakfast initiative. We
took eggs and a piglet, which got lots
of oohs and ahs from the children.
“I was able to show them from
