What you might not know, however, is that BCAAs could play an important role in your immunity. Japanese researchers found that the mere presence of BCAAs have the ability to restrain the prolif- eration of liver cancer cells. The study, published in the World Journal of Gastroenterology, also discovered that people with advanced liver diseases were positively affected by BCAAs. 4. Beat The Heat Because BCAAs prevent central fatigue (or fatigue of the central nervous system), they can really make a difference in an athlete’s physical performance. Research has presented conflicting findings, but, some studies, including one pub- lished in the journal, Amino Acids, has shown that athletes supplementing their diets with BCAAs experience less mental and physical exertion and perform better even in the heat.
