It has been said that a successful person lives his/her life in three parts or phases. First you learn, then you earn,
then you return. Phase one often involves that first mentoring by others; teachers, parents, etc. Phase three is often
that time in your life when you mentor, help, others; when you give back or “pay it forward”.
The basic concept of mentoring is to help others reach their potential through a one to one relationship. Entire organizations are based on this concept. One of those is “Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America”, a non-profit group
that is basically a mentoring organization.
I hope I have helped persons to reach their potential. Since I got this award, not once but twice, I must be doing it. I
am paying it forward!
