Moving on to tween makeup. Tween is a term used to describe ages 10-12. With that being said, I would not use a lot of makeup if any on this age group. If your tween shows interest

or insists, of course, we want to show her the proper way to enhance her natural beauty.

Foundation

Since most girls this age have a flawless complexion already, I would not use an

actual foundation on them. Instead have them use a lightweight SPF or beauty balm (BB Cream): Maybelline's Dream Fresh BB, $7 or Pur Minerals 4n1

tinted moisturizer, $34. Both

protect their skin and allow them to feel like they are applying a foundation.

Lashes/Brows

Using a dual lash and brow gel like: E.L.F brow and lash mascara, $2, is ideal. It’s

two in one, it will allow them to groom the brows and separate their lashes . A brown or dark

brown mascara on lashes would be appropriate, too.

Eyes

I don't suggest eyeshadow, if any, a shimmery neutral or some glitter for fun at dances or pep rallies.

Lips

As for the lips add a tinted lip balm like: Clinique's Chubby Stick $16 or Maybelline's

Tinted Baby Lips $6. A clear or pink lip gloss is also a great choice.

We just want to keep it nice and simple for our tweens, while enhancing their already beautiful faces. Now each parent is different so if you decide to let them add a little soft peachy blush or a

little concealer it is your call, "mom."

Next up, I want to touch on ages 13-15. At this age range your teen can start adding more products to her makeup routine, but still look their age. I would not put the same amount or same products on a 13 year old as I would a 16 year old.

Foundation

Definitely still consider a BB cream or tinted moisturizer. If your teenager is wanting more coverage, add a powder foundation like Bareminerals Foundation $28 or a sheer to

medium coverage liquid foundation. These foundations will give them more coverage but still look natural. Note: I do suggest taking them to a counter or somewhere like Sephora to get color matched.

Add on

This would be a good time to introduce a light creamy concealer. Use index finger to gently pat in the concealer under the eye or over blemishes.
