Skin Care

Facial Cleansing

Encourage your child to cleanse their face twice a day with a gentle cleanser

such as:

Philosophy's Purity $24 or

Cetaphil Skin Cleanser $12.

Clarisonics $99-$240 are also a great cleansing investment for anyone any age.

Moisturize

Have your teen use a lightweight moisturizer like:

Pur Minerals Soak It Up $34 or

Cetaphil Oil Free moisturizer $12.

Even if your daughter has oily skin they must use one to keep their skin from over producing oil. Make sure the moisturizer is oil free and noncomedogenic,

mostly because their hormones are unpredictable and we don't want to cause a breakout.

Protect

Protecting your teens skin from harmful sun rays is so important. Apply a lightweight SPF on face and/or body 30 minutes before going outside. These sunscreens are ideal:

Supergoop SPF 30 $34 or Neutrogena Ultra Sheer face and body $11. Cleanse, moisturize, and protect are three simple steps to skincare. Older teenagers may want to add a weekly mask or exfoliant to their routine. If your teen is experiencing problematic skin, go see a dermatologist to get it under control (they're the experts).
