Here in El Paso, Texas, on August 28th at the SOCORRO ENTERTAINMENT CENTER, SHINEDOWN brought their "Threat to Survival Tour” to this fair city and make no mistake--we were ready for them! Fans turned out in droves for this show and I couldn't think of a better place to hold this show other than Socorro. I have really taken a shine to this venue, top drawer in every way! Shinedown hit the stage right on time and immediately had this audience worked into a frenzy with hits like "45", "Sound of Madness", "Enemies" and "Second Chance”. Normally, after I shoot my three songs from the pit, I will try and get a couple of shots with the long lens from the crowd, which I did. Then I would make my way to the door for an early exit…but not this time! I stayed for the entire show and who wouldn't? Shinedown has so many FM hits (as I like to call them), you just can't help enjoying a show of this caliber! As I worked my way thru the crowd, everybody was having a fantastic time, mouthing every word to every song. It was as if the audience were as one. In this line of work I have chosen, you don't see this much, especially with most of the shows I do cover, which is Metal Core. Sure, in those shows there is a percentage of people that sing along, but mostly the crowd is either just standing there or in a "Circle Pit"…yeah, good times! But this certainly wasn't the case at this show. Everybody had a great time and was thoroughly entertained by this 5 star touring attraction, myself included. In closing, if you're a concert goer as I am, Shinedown is a no brainer. If this show comes anywhere near your town, make sure you attend--you'll walk away with the same mindset as I have. www.shinedown.com • www.facebook.com/Shinedown
