Bank of NH Pavilion • Gilford, NH • September 13, 2015 Review and Photography by Mark Myers • www.MarkMyersPhotography.com Seeing one of your favorite bands for the first time with their new lead singer is always going to be awkward. Just like seeing your ex with someone new. Like the first time I saw VAN HALEN with SAMMY HAGAR--or when I first heard AC/DC without BONN SCOTT. It’s just kind of weird. So I didn’t expect much when I found out that I’d be photographing and reviewing QUEENSRŸCHE with their new front man, TODD LA TORRE. How dare they replace GEOFF TATE? Can the new guy sing Geoff’s parts? Will “Silent Lucidity” go from one of my all time favorite songs to just a memory of how great this band used to be? The reality is that Tate has been replaced. The reality is that the “new” guy--Todd La Torre--has an amazing voice and yes, he can sing Tate’s parts extremely well. The reality is that Queensrÿche sounds way better than the last time I saw them. And yes, “Silent Lucidity” was performed flawlessly! The new record drops on iTunes October 2nd and I’ve already pre-ordered it--definitely looking forward to hearing the whole album!
