My favorite track on this album is “My Misery”, where powerful energy seduces the ears with scintillating rhythms. This track
calls to mind the Swedish band, THE POODLES. The opening track “Alive” presents gritty guitars in a lower, Stoner Metal vibe
and 80’s influences. Gorgeous, massive guitars riffs left me wanting MORE.
“Be on Your Way” is gentler track with a more subdued mood that showcases the singer SAMI HUORTARI’S vocals nicely with
a backdrop of the intermeshing of many musical styles...LOVE! Another lower-key song is “Remembrance”, where acoustic
guitars cradle a beautiful ballad with exceptional vocals.
Fresh energy is present in “World Doesn't Need a Hero (Like You)”, which I adore! Melodies ooze out this track and permeate
the mind long after the song ends; a throwback to the best years of 80’s Hard Rock. Crazy Death Metal galloping drums open
“Live, Like No Tomorrow”--and then the track launches into pure Power Metal...epic and edgy!
“Train!” features excellent guitar work; meshing Stoner Metal with Progressive Rock. The song “Lie (In My Own Life)” boasts
influences of BLACK SABBATH, the power of ZAKK WYLDE--with a dash of ASIA…a smorgasbord of sound!
Also worthy of mention are: “Delire Grandiose”—an interesting mix of Funk and Rock, driven with some exceptional bass work,
and “Release Yourself”--with its CHICKENFOOT and YES undertones.
The music of ZERO VERDICT is monstrously melodious and every song on this CD is filled with superb musicianship and heart!
This is a band to watch with big potential! These Finnish Rockers definitely hit the mark with this CD, and I highly recommend
this for any music lover’s library!
