Interview With
CARRIE SUSAN BRZEZINSKI of VELVET TONES
In the age we live in today, the
attention to health and fitness
has undoubtedly reached an alltime high. There are more fad
diets and quick-fix fitness plans
more so than ever before. Of
course, the biggest obstacles
often times, are time and money.
It takes time to exercise. The
appropriate foods or dietary
supplements can be costly. So
what in the world does any of this
have to do with the music
industry? It's not as if Keith
Richards is a model of health and
fitness, right? Then of course,
there's the old cliché citing “Sex,
Drugs and Rock 'n' Roll”. But
then again, if you don't take care
of yourself you can burnout pretty
quickly, right? Singers need to be
very conscious of their voices.
Bands, depending on how
theatrical they want to perform,
certainly need to keep their
fitness levels up. In order to play
the part, you've got to look the
part. Unless musicians have been blessed with some supernatural genetics, it's imperative to take care
of themselves. Otherwise, the experience of performing before LIVE audiences will be very short lived.
All that said, I decided to consult a musician who takes her health and fitness very seriously.
