Tucker: Playing my music live is like a soul cleansing--a chance to exorcise the demons. When my audience claps, it's great, but when they stop me and tell me that some song I did meant something to them, that's huge. I like to think I am more than some guy who plays songs; I like to think I am a conduit of emotion and memory and spirit making my heart available to the crowd or CD listener. I hope what I do musically will mean something to someone; then I can feel my quest was not in vain. ION: What are your thoughts on the current state of Blues and roots music in general? Do you think there’s enough younger talent to keep the genre healthy into the future? Tucker: As far as the current state of Blues and Americana, I think there is lots of great music coming out—LANCE LOPEZ, DICKIE JAMES especially, MIKE ZITO…so many killer artists just keeping the music vital. As far as the next generation, kids like TALLAN NOBLE LATZ and my son, Russell Tucker are so talented and they want to keep real Blues and roots music alive, so I am encouraged. ION: Is there anything particular that you’d hope a listener takes away from your music? Tucker: After someone hears my music, I want them to take away a sense of having traveled and experienced a life vicariously. If they feel joy, pain, loss, or gain, it's all a part of the picture. The music and lyrics are so important to bringing your audience in and guiding them on this vision quest. If I can give them anything, I give them my soul. http://kentucker.weebly.com/ http://reverbnation.com/kentuckerblues http://facebook.com/kentuckerbluesband.net
