former bandmate, LOGAN WILLIAMS, owner of VERO STUDIO in Newark, Ohio. Lacking the perks of major label bands takes nothing away from the production value of the EP. It is a collection of sing-along anthems built for radio. The band is currently working on the follow-up to that 2013 release. Based on the material that I heard at a recent show, I can say that things are only moving in a positive direction for this group. We Are The Movies is a band that are a throwback to what many people like me (or at least my age) might consider happier times. An era where everyone in my sleepy little town was trying to start a band, and people put their differences aside for the mutual love of music. They know where they came from, and want to make sure that these traditions live on in the next round of bored, disenfranchised youth. O’Leary spoke to this saying, “We would love to have a place to play where kids could feel a sense of ownership to come and experience music that makes them feel something, that inspires them to start bands and have a place to share their own music with others. Bands like us could help mentor these younger bands and create an even stronger scene. Pay it forward.” Overholt, who works as a Librarian during the day, added,“ Columbus is so big, I don't know if that exists here, and I want to make it our mission to either find out where that place is if it DOES exist, and if it doesn't, let's make some connections and make it happen!” Be on the lookout for a new release from We Are The Movies in the near future. www.facebook.com/Wearethemoviesband www.wearethemoviesband.com
