This May issue packs a lot of “punch”…with the band BASH, out of El Paso,
Texas, as our featured band. Photojournalist TIMOTHY SCHUMANN and
contributing Photojournalist MICHAEL RUSHTON (ROCKSHOW PICS) teamed
up on this fabulous feature, with in-your-face photography—along with an
insightful interview with band founder and lead singer SEBASTIAN FELIX.

I am delighted to announce the acquisition of two new members to the
journalistic staff of ION. Welcome to MARK MYERS and GARY CAROTA! So
glad to have you aboard!
This month, ION brings you an insightful behind the scenes look at the making of music…from studio to
video. Photojournalist JB BRIDGES and I followed along with 17 year old Country music phenom and Official
CMT artist, ASHLEY WINELAND, as she recorded the music and filmed the video for her new single “No Prince
Charming”. Ashley graced the cover of ION’s December 2014 edition and since then, is taking Country music
by storm! Read all about it in this May issue.
ION INDIE MAGAZINE was founded last June on this premise of getting independent music read about and
heard. To this end, we not only provide valuable media coverage, but each month, we forward the music that
streams in our interactive format to our broadcast media affiliates for consideration for rotation. Many of
the artists that have appeared in our pages are now on the air across the nation. I want to acknowledge
these cherished radio partners that work so hard to provide a forum for artists and give tirelessly of their
time to promote and support the independent movement. They are: NEUE REGEL RADIO, CRIM RADIO,
WBAD, MUSEBOAT RADIO, TWISTERS MUSIC, THE FYRE AND ICE SHOW RADIO and IAAM RADIO. Also, we

Next month is a milestone for ION…our one year anniversary! I guess time flies when you are having a good
time. Thank you to our readers for finding value in our publication and for coming back every month. And, as
always…I am especially grateful to the dedicated staff of ION—for without them lending their talents to the
