There is much that goes into the writing, development, recording, production, and videography of a song…in this case, a Country song. But unlike many of the Country songs one might hear over the airwaves, where “No Prince Charming” is concerned, there are no mentions of a pick-up truck, tears in your beer, painted-on jeans or any other Country “buzz” words so prevalent in today’s lyrics. What “No Prince Charming” DOES offer, is the telling of a story—which is what attracted Ashley to Country music in the first place. There was a lot of hard work--mixed in with fun--that really pushed this song to where it is now.” She continues, “The whole premise of the song is about learning from your experiences and doing what's best for you. It's not always the really cute bad boy that's going to give you the ending you really want. Sometimes it’s the one that's been there the whole time--or you didn't expect to come along--who's going to treat you the right way and be that ‘one’.” Our quest to delve into “all things Prince Charming” led to J.B. and I meeting up with Brent and Bryan at the local APPLEBEES. Brent had the script in hand for the video for “No Prince Charming” and had additionally come armed with a laptop and headphones. And so it was, that I heard the first “scratch” recording and laid eyes on the script for--what was soon to
