ION INDIE MAGAZINE June 2016, Volume 25 | Page 65

With an enhanced experience that was designed to be more like a carnival” type feel rather than just another rock show, the event grounds featured no shortage of merchandise and vendor booths, several game experiences, live music workshops, meet and greets, a large ferris wheel, and a whole "food village" where you could find virtually any type of fare. It's hard to put a finger on which band stole the show this year, but undoubtedly, the audience went crazy for the Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper, Megadeth and Shinedown--just to name a few. We spent a good part of the weekend backstage meeting and talking with the bands, and in coming issues, we'll feature one or two of those bands and their interviews each month. This month, we feature LACEY STURM (formerly of FLYLEAF). Live coverage for ION Indie Magazine was provided by the Carolina Rebellion Fan Zone Production team w/GARY CAROTA, REI HAYCRAFT, CHRIS FREIER and FRANZ SCHROERING, JOHN LOCKETT/CRIM RADIO and GARY CAROTA IMAGES CONCERT PHOTOGRAPHY.
