Now here comes a band that absolutely needs no introduction, that's for sure! On April 28th, here in El Paso, Texas, at the ABRAHAM CHAVEZ THEATRE, ZZ TOP played to a sold-out crowd, a crowd that was on their feet for the entire show! They opened with "Got Me Under Pressure", "Waiting for the Bus" and "Jesus Just left Chicago". Needless to say, this Texas audience was eating this up with a big spoon! Speaking of Texas, ZZ TOP hails from Houston and has been together since 1969. This band has held the same lineup for the past 46 years--which is just unheard of nowadays! Their debut album was released in 1971 and since then, they have put out 11 Gold, 7 Platinum, 13 Multi-Platinum albums, all in all, 15 albums in their career. In 1983, "Eliminator" sold 10 million copies. In total, ZZ TOP has sold over 25 million albums, and in 2004, they were inducted into the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME. Just a little "Fun Fact", in 2012, Gillette Razors offered Dusty and Billy one million dollars to shave off their beards, and of course, the answer was “No!” In closing, it was an honor and my pleasure to cover this show, to be in the presence of Rock and Roll Royalty, if only for a few minutes. I have been listening to ZZ TOP as long as I can remember. They have always been a staple in my music collection and I am sure, yours as well. Billy, Dusty and Frank are making their way across the U.S.--I suggest you check your events calendar and get to the show. I can promise you that you will not be disappointed. WWW.ZZTOP.COM
