JP: If you had to place yourself in a genre, what genre would you place yourself into? Jessie: Alternative, Unicorn, Pop Star, VIOLET (laughing). Alternative, for sure, a little bit of Rock, a little bit of Folk, not too much Folk. To be fair, if you have heard our early releases, “The Day I Was Sorry”, it’s mostly four instruments—guitar, bass, drums, piano (and of course vocals). It’s pretty raw and the melodies could be considered Pop melodies. Pop Alternative may be the best one to say. JP: There is almost always that one song that reaches out and is reflective of how you are feeling. What one song on your album is that song? Jessie: “Seasons”, because seasons change, but my love’s a lifetime. Alayna: I would have to agree, “Seasons” speaks to everyone that listens to it in a different way, but for us, it really represents our transition. Devo: “Seasons”. Kayla: “Seasons”—when you’re going through something difficult, it will eventually pass and you will get through it. JP: Is there anything you would like to add Devo: You can find us on the internet at: www.truevioletmusic.com. That will link you up with all of our social media; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. Jessie: I would say that if anyone feels really alone or really left out or that nobody cares about them, trust and know that we have all been there. Speaking for myself, I’ve been there. Life is really, really difficult. Especially, being a musician is very hard. It’s very easy to give up. There are still times I want to throw everything to the floor, look up to the sky and ask the universe, “Why? Why did I get the curse of music?” With anything in life, there are going to be challenges. If anybody wants to reach out to us, we will give you the strength you need, as much as we can because we are in this together and that’s part of what our music is about. Alayna: Thank you so much for having us. We want to get our message out there. Our biggest goal as a band is to just help people. A lot of people don’t realize how much they help us and we want to reciprocate that. Kayla: I want everybody to enjoy the album. We’ve put a lot of work into it and we want you to enjoy it. Jessie: Also, if they want a signed copy of the album, come to a show. *** Take the time, when they come to a town near you, to take in a live show and pick up a signed copy of the new full length CD. I believe you will be very glad you did. In the meantime, you can check out TRUE VIOLET at: www.facebook.com/truevioletband www.truevioletmusic.com/ www.reverbnation.com/trueviolet
