LION TWIN is a Metal/Pop duo from Wuppertal in Germany, which was established in the early
summer of 2011 by JAN LOEMMET (guitar) and LIANE VOLLMER-STURM (vocals). The album was
self-produced, but mixed & mastered by the legendary MICHAEL WAGENER (ALICE COOPER,
MEGADETH, ACCEPT, MÖTLEY CRÜE, RAVEN, METALLICA, JANET JACKSON, QUEEN, OZZY
OSBOURNE) at his Nashville studios.
I particularly liked the track “Notung” with its riveting riffs a la 80’s Hard Rock and a very
memorable chorus which tunnels into the mind with the first note. The fantastic opening track
“Ready to Rock” presents itself in a lively “rock your face off” mood, reminiscent of a VAN
HALEN stadium song. “When the Lights Go On” spotlights the duo vocals; buoyed by a
memorable bass line…very nice!
UDO DIRKSCHNEIDER (ACCEPT/U.D.O.) sings a duet with Li in “Day of Anger”. This is another
powerful track which is a flat-out hit! It is a powerful song that delivers—thanks to the teaming
of these two great vocalists. Killer song! Liane Vollmer-Sturm has beautiful, rich voice fraught
emotion, much in the vein of DORO.
