MM to Jessica: Tell me about Anaria. Jessica: Anaria is the culmination of a musical dream that was originally envisioned between DAN SPINNEY and myself. It defies categorization by encompassing multiple genres, in essence creating something that I would call “Movie Soundtrack Metal”. With elements of Rock, Metal, Pop and Classical Music, it takes the passions of each member and molds them into one huge cohesive sound that draws the listener in. Anaria takes its listeners and creators deep into an experience of emotion, satiating and simultaneously creating a hunger for the next chapter. MM to Jessica: You get to tour with any band…who would it be? Jessica: If I could tour with any band, I would have to say EVANESCENCE. I know this seems like the obvious choice for a female Rock singer, but AMY LELE has been one of my hugest inspirations. She puts out an incredible, emotional performance and just has enough stage charisma to fill the whole venue. MM to Jessica: What band is getting the most play on your iPod right now? Jessica: CELLDWELLER gets the most play in my daily activities, which is more a project than a band. It's a very accessible and enjoyable type of music to listen to; high energy and transcendent of its classification with regards to its ambiance. MM to Jessica: In just one paragraph, describe yourself…go: Jessica: I am a story and I am the writer of that story. Each day is a new page on which I have the ability to create. I am an opportunity maker and a risk taker. I am music and music is me; one cannot exist without the other. I have always been creative and in awe of the world around me. Because of that, it has been and always will be my ultimate goal to instill wonder in others. I am a redheaded blue-eyed child of the earth; fierce, somewhat reserved, but ever eager for discovery. MM to Dan: Love the new Anaria ink! (see photo). That shows amazing dedication to your art and to this band. What’s next for Anaria? After the record drops? Dan: It’s kind of up in the air and I mean that in a good way. After this new album, we need management. We want ideally to get signed unless that means we have to make sacrifices in our look and sound. We’re making sure that every piece is in place. We’ll have everything the record company wants without changing it. (Dan’s Anaria tattoo was done by the very lovely and talented MAURA CARIGNAN.} MM: Kevin H. Brady…you seem to have 2 personalities. On one side, I see a very upbeat guy. I’ve seen you mingling and chatting with fans, joking and smiling. But then you get on stage and you’re definitely all business. How hard is that to do? Kevin: Honestly it really isn’t, me, aside from music I do a lot of theater and comedy. I have not made the step into performing it. I do a lot of comedy writing too. MM: So technically, you could open (as a comic) for Anaria. Kevin: I would not do that to us. I think people would leave. But for me, it’s business. Once we start moving our gear towards the stage, it’s show time, game face--we’ve got to do it. MM to Kevin: Who’s your biggest influence--any genre? Kevin: I jokingly say behind every bass player is a failed guitarist. I started out playing guitar. I play guitar at home far more than I play bass. When I was first starting to play, I was listening to Punk Rock. It was three chords as fast as you play and that’s it. Eventually I reached a point where I kind of plateaued as a guitar player and I started playing bass because at the time in high school, everyone played guitar and nobody played bass. I’d like to say that a mediocre bass player is in higher demand than a mediocre guitarist. It’s job security. MM to Kevin: I’ve seen you play, you’re definitely selling yourself a little short!
