SELENE is a female-fronted Symphonic Power Metal band from L/Derry in Northern Ireland formed in March
2013. They released their EP “Among the Frozen” in 2013, 3 singles and new latest EP “Paradise Over” on
October 24, 2014.
Opening the album is “Facing the Mirror”, enticing the listener with great musicianship plus the brilliant
vocals of singer SHONAGH LYONS. This leads into my favorite track, “Not Enough”–a lively presentation of
pure power. This is one of those epic songs that must be enjoyed through headphones to revel in all of its
richness. It calls to mind the essence of NIGHTWISH. The next song “Still Dreaming” sets a melancholy tone
and delivers a full symphonic experience.
