THE BAND Story and Photography by Timothy Schumann From the very first time I watched this band perform, I liked them. I had the same feeling when I first watched GUNS N’ ROSES" in 1987 and I watched NICKELBACK play to about 30 people on a Saturday morning at a music festival in Tampa back in 1999. I thought to myself, “These guys have something special.”--and that's how I feel about El Paso's own BASH. This band consist of SEBASTIAN FELIX on guitar, MICHAEL RUSSO on bass and MIGUEL SAMANIEGO on drums. Miguel is the new addition to BASH, only by a few months, but according to his bandmates, he fits like a glove. Sebastian and Mike however have been together making music for the past seven years. Sebastian's influences are MATTHEW BELLAMY of MUSE, SYNYSTER GATES of AVENGED SEVENFOLD and JUSTIN FURSTENFELD of BLUE OCTOBER. Michael's are VICTOR VOOTEN, FLEA and BOOTSY COLLINS. Miguel's are JOHN BONHAM, THE LATE REV of AVENGED SEVENFOLD and BUDDY RICH. BASH is no stranger to touring--they just came off a West Coast tour in November, entitled “The Takeover Tour". They have appeared twice on the “Ink Life Tour”, with national acts such as WAYNE STATIC, BUCKCHERRY, DROWNING POOL and MUSHROOM HEAD. Here in El Paso, they have appeared at festivals like “Rock the Fort” at Fort Bliss, with THEORY OF A DEAD MAN, and the “Texas Showdown Festival” with the DEFTONES and DROWNING POOL. Needless to say, BASH has shared the stage with Rock and Roll’s elite over the years and in my opinion, it’s all well deserved. These guys work hard and have no plans on letting up. For the next couple of months, it’s back in the studio and plans for an East Coast tour for 2015. If you get the chance to see them, please do--and I promise, you’ll walk away feeling the same way I did when I first saw them, that these guys are the real deal and will be headliners in due time! www.bashtheband.com • www.facebook.com/bashthebandofficial
