Kat: I have listened to your album and I really love it! You are
playing Symphonic Metal, with a few influences of Progressive
Metal. I really like ‘Needle Bites’, ‘Lifeless Eyes’ and ‘The
Bargaining’. Can you tell something more about these songs? From
where did the idea originate to write such lyrics and create the
catchy melodies?
Iliana: ‘Lifeless Eyes’ is a piece that I brought to the band, however
after Steelianos worked on the track, it became the most melodic
and easy-listening song of the album. The song itself describes the
feeling of jealousy detected in certain people that have no
essential life themselves. The main themes of the songs ‘Needle
Bites’ and ‘The Bargaining’, were written by Steelianos and
enhanced later by Marianthe. ‘Needle Bites’ is about a troubled
person in an a mental asylum that fights his inner demons and feels
that can only be set free by the touch of a needle. The lyrics on this
one were written by John, a close friend of the band. ‘The
Bargaining’ is the second part of the album’s quadrilogy, based on
the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice; it narrates the
descending of Orpheus into the Underworld, in order to claim
back the soul of Eurydice from Hades. The lyrics of these song and
the 4-track sequence, in general, were written by our bass player
Thanos.
Kat: On your new album ‘Rejected Gods’, are featured guest

Ailyn Giménez (SIRENIZ), Mike LePond (SYMPHONY X), Androniki
Skoula (CHAOSTAR) and Maxi Nil (JADED STAR, ex-VISIONS OF
ATLANTIS). How was that collaboration and did you have fun while
working together?
Iliana: It’s a great honor that such talented and famous musicians
accepted to join us in the recordings. I’m pretty sure that they
would not agree to participate if they didn’t like the material. It was
a dream come true for all of us.
Kat: Do you have any plans to perform with a real symphony
orchestra on future albums?
Iliana: That would be amazing, of course, but right now our budget
does not allow it.
Kat: What are the future plans for ENEMY OF REALITY? Do you have
in plans to tour all over Europe promoting your album?
Iliana: Of course, touring abroad is within our current plans. We
have already done some concerts and participated in major
festivals.
