So you practice like crazy. The music consumes you. Every waking hour you
spend perfecting your craft. To most, it sounds good, but to you it's just
not there yet. So you practice more. And more. And yet more. Then you
realize one day you will never be "satisfied" with just being good. You
have to be great! That kind of sums up our ION Indie Magazine’s choice for
ReverbNation artist pick of the month…MARY SARAH.
While many artist hope they will be eventually good enough to write their
own songs and do a good job at it, this young Texas artist does that--and
more. In fact, she has artist’s approaching her and wanting her to sing
THEIR songs. Hey, no surprise there. Every jackleg, wannabe
songwriter/performer with a notepad on music row wants to catch somebody
with a few hit CD's under their belt and jump on board, right? Did I
mention this is her first CD? And those "nobody" songwriter/performers
have names like WILLIE NELSON, DOLLY PARTON, MERLE HAGGARD, VINCE GIL,
TANYA TUCKER, THE OAK RIDGE BOYS and the late RAY PRICE?
So good that THE OAK RIDGE BOYS tweeted an invitation to her to attend
one of their concerts as a guest and then, to her surprise that night,
invited her up on stage to perform. Who the heck does THAT happen to?
MARY SARAH, that's who!
The CD is titled “BRIDGES”, as it bridges the gap between old and new
Country, between what have been described as architects of Country and is
a wonderful 18 year old voice of Country. The track listing is as follows:
